1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply to allthingsdetailing.com (the "site"), which is run by All Things Detailing ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What the site is
The site publishes guides about detailing cars and about starting and running a detailing business. The guides are general information and are free to read. They are not a substitute for professional training or for advice about your particular vehicle or business.
3. Using the guides is at your own risk
Detailing involves chemicals, machine polishers, pressure washers and surfaces that are easy to damage. Every vehicle, product and situation is different, and a method that is safe on one car can damage another.
- Follow the instructions and safety information from the maker of any product or tool you use, including its safety data sheet. If a guide and the label disagree, follow the label.
- Wear the protective gear the product calls for, and work with good ventilation.
- Test any product or method on a small, hidden area first.
- Check your owner's manual and warranty before working on a vehicle.
You are responsible for the work you do on your own vehicle or anyone else's. We are not responsible for damage to a vehicle or other property, or for injury, that comes from following or misreading a guide.
4. Business guides are not professional advice
Guides about pricing, insurance, taxes, licensing, hiring and other business subjects are general information drawn from experience. They are not legal, tax, accounting, insurance or financial advice. Rules and costs differ by city, state and country. Speak to a qualified professional before making decisions for your business.
We do not promise any result. Numbers used in guides are examples that show how a calculation works. What you earn depends on your work, your market and things we cannot know.
5. Products, affiliate links and ads
Some links on the site are affiliate links, and the site may show ads. The affiliate disclosure explains how that works.
- We do not sell the products we write about, and we do not set their prices.
- Prices, specifications and availability change. The retailer's page is the one that counts at the time you buy.
- Any purchase is between you and the seller. Returns, refunds and warranties are handled by the seller or the manufacturer.
- An ad shown on the site is not a recommendation from us.
6. Links to other websites
The site links to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their products or how they handle your information. A link does not mean we endorse everything on the other site.
7. Our content
The text, images, graphics and design on the site belong to All Things Detailing or are used with permission, and they are protected by copyright law.
You are welcome to:
- Read the site and share links to it.
- Quote a short passage, as long as you credit All Things Detailing and link to the guide.
- Print a guide for your own use.
You may not, without written permission:
- Republish whole guides or large parts of them.
- Copy the site's content in bulk with automated tools.
- Sell our content or pass it off as your own.

8. Acceptable use
When you use the site, do not:
- Break any law.
- Try to gain access to parts of the site or its systems that are not public.
- Overload or disrupt the site, or introduce malicious code.
- Claim to represent All Things Detailing when you do not.
9. Things you send us
If you email us a question, correction, photo or idea, it stays yours. You give us permission to use, edit and publish it on the site without payment, for example to answer a reader question or to fix a guide. We will not publish your name or contact details without asking you first.
Please do not send us anything confidential, or anything that is not yours to share.
10. No warranties
We work to keep the guides accurate and current, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the content is complete, correct or up to date, or that the site will always be available or free of errors.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, All Things Detailing and the people who run and write for it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or property, including damage to a vehicle, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content.
If we are found liable despite the paragraph above, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred US dollars (US $100).
Some places do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or misused the site, you agree to cover the resulting losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees.
13. Privacy
The privacy policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and what happens to it.
14. Changes
We may update, move or remove content at any time. We may also change these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date, and it applies from that date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about these terms or the site will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California.
16. General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the privacy policy and the affiliate disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
