The best dog hair removal tools for cars are a rubber vacuum attachment, a rubber hand scraper, an air blow gun and a pumice stone. None of them gets every hair on its own. On a bad car we sometimes use all four together, and that is the fastest method we know.
We have used every tool on this list. Which ones you need depends on the dog, the carpet and the car.

Buff Brite Fur-eel Pro 2 for shop vacs
The Fur-eel is a soft rubber head that fits on the end of a vacuum crevice tool. It loosens the hair and the vacuum pulls it up, so it does two jobs at once.
It is tiring on the arm, and because it is rubber, it wears out over time.
It is worth checking the fit before you buy. The Fur-eel is an oblong shape that will not slide onto a standard shop vac hose by itself. The Fang adapter has a 1.25 in inner diameter and a 1.5 in outer diameter, which fits many vacuums and shop vacs. A shop vac with a 2.25 in hose needs a separate Buff Brite shop vac adapter. The Fang is sold separately, so it is worth checking its price when you order.
FurCobra Pro hand scraper
The FurCobra Pro is a small rubber scraper you drag across carpet and upholstery. It is efficient. Like the Fur-eel, it is rubber, so it deteriorates with use.
Tornador Z-014 air blow gun
The Tornador Z-014 runs off an air compressor and blasts hair and debris out of the carpet. It is very efficient and very quick, but it does not get all of the hair.
The maker says it needs a compressor putting out 60 to 90 psi at about 5 CFM, and you should not go over 90 psi. Wear eye and ear protection, because it throws debris. The spinning Tornador models, the Mini and the regular Tornador, also work for this job.
Pumice stone
A pumice stone pulls up a lot of hair very fast, and it is cheap. Stones made for pet hair, like the Magna Rock, are pumice.
It has two real downsides. It can damage the carpet, and it scratches any plastic it touches, so we would keep it off the trim around the carpet.
Using the tools together
Most of the time one tool is not enough, and using them together is the fastest way we have found to clear a car full of dog hair. We would start with the least aggressive method, which is usually the air compressor and the Tornador, and move to the more aggressive tools only if the hair is still there. The pumice stone can damage carpet, so we save it for last.
Why the dog, carpet and car change the answer
How many of these tools you need depends on the dog, the carpet and the car.
Long-haired dogs, like huskies, usually do not weave their hair into the carpet, so it comes out more easily. Short-haired dogs, like Dobermans and boxers, are much harder. Their hair is so sharp that it weaves into the carpet, and some carpets hold it even harder than others.
